Packaging specialist unveils new on-demand bubble wrap machine

Storopack, a manufacturer of packaging supplies, used the recent Internet Retailer Conference to promote the introduction of their new on-demand bubble wrap machine.

Buying bubble wrap by the roll can lead to wastage, and storage can be an issue as inflated rolls of wrap take up a lot of space. Storopack’s new AIRmove machine creates sheets of bubble wrap from deflated flat plastic sheets, and is designed to be affordable for smaller companies who want to cut down on packaging costs in the long term.

Previously, Storopack had rented larger machines to customers, charging a monthly fee and requiring users to order at least six rolls of wrap each month. However, this was beyond the needs of many small businesses, so Storopack developed their new machine to fill this gap in the market.

Bruce Bisel from Storopack explained: “The AIRmore product was introduced for those customers who have smaller requirements but now have the option to pack more efficiently, faster and more economically like the larger shippers using professional void-fill packaging materials.

“As with all Storopack products, our goal is to find the optimal environmental approach with each of our packing materials.”
