Ronpak Incorporated, best known for their range of bottle bags, have announced plans to construct a new manufacturing plant in Louisiana.

The plant, which is expected to cost $16.8 million, will provide a much-needed jobs boost for the area, with 175 new positions being created. The facility will be Ronpak’s third manufacturing facility, as it already has plants in New Jersey and California.

Work on the new factory is expected to begin towards the end of this year, with a projected completion deadline of December 2012. Ron Sedley, owner of Ronpak, explained that Louisiana was chosen, “because of the quality of the people and the quality of the training programmes. It was key to have a great work force that would be well trained from the start.”

Due to the number of new jobs the plant will provide and the positive impact it will have on the local economy in Louisiana, Ronpak are entitled to significant government assistance in their expansion project, in a deal which is worth up to $3.55 million.

In addition to bottle bags, Ronpak also produce grocery bags, sandwich wrappers, bakery bags, bags for pharmaceutical products and foil bags for food storage.
