Geami launch eco-friendly alternative to bubble wrap
Environmentally friendly packaging producer Geami used last month’s Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition trade show in San Diego to launch its new recyclable alternative to bubble wrap.
The new eWrap material is constructed from standard Kraft wrapping paper, and is both cheaper to produce than conventional plastic-based wraps and also easier to pack with, which cuts down on packaging labour and thus saves money on the factory floor.
With the rise in Internet-based retailers, more companies than ever are now sending their goods to consumers through the post, and the demand for an efficient and cost-effective wrapping solution has never been higher. Geami believe that their new product can address this need perfectly.
Suitable for wrapping everything from food and health and beauty products to glass and tableware, eWrap is an incredibly versatile material that is intended to be used by both light and medium volume shippers. Dispensed from an automated countertop machine, eWrap provides a secure protective wrapping for delicate items in seconds.
Speaking in advance of the Internet Retailer Conference show, Lynne Moe, Geami’s account manager, stated: “While attendees will discover how versatile Geami’s Kraft paper wrapping and cushioning materials are to use, the opportunities for increased throughput in processing and packing orders are the lynchpin of the system.”
