Producer of jiffy bags introduce new packaging calendar
Pregis Protective Packaging, manufacturer of jiffy bags, has created a new packaging calculator which will help its customers to design the most efficient product-specific packaging solutions using Pregis’ Foam Plank packing filler.
The new calculator, known as the Pregis ICC (Intelligent Cushioning Calculator), uses sophisticated optimisation algorithms to ascertain which of Pregis’ different Foam Plank products – Nopaplank, fully extruded plank and Polylam laminated plank -are best suited to the application.
Once a packaging material has been chosen, the software will then automatically determine the most efficient amount of material needed to provide maximum protection to the product at the lowest possible price.
Thanks to the ICC, customers can quickly and easily determine exactly how much packaging material will be needed for each product, saving a great deal of time when it comes to designing packaging solutions for awkward or oddly-shaped items. What’s more, as the amount of waste generated is kept to an absolute minimum, the ICC will also help companies be kinder to the environment.
